Bishop C. H. McClelland
Jurisdictional Prelate and General Board Member, Church of God in Christ, Inc.
Bishop C. H. McClelland is the Pastor of Holy Cathedral Church of God in Christ, 2677 N. 40th Street, Milwaukee. Appointed Pastor in September 1982 by the late Bishop P. J. Henderson, he led a congregation of 25 that has grown to more than 1,200 members. Born in Covington, Tennessee, he moved to Milwaukee at 19, where he gave his life to God in November 1969 and met his wife, Prentiss Delores; they married in July 1974. He served 19 years as a Program Administrator with the Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services, and in 1996 founded Word of Hope Ministries, Inc., which has served more than 50,000 individuals and families. At the Holy Convocation in November 2008 he was consecrated Bishop of the Wisconsin Northwest Jurisdiction by Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr. Under his leadership the Jurisdiction has grown to 45 churches. He was elected to the COGIC General Board in March 2021 and re-elected in November 2024, and was appointed Chairman of the COGIC Leadership Conference in January 2022. He established the Bishop Adolphus Allen School of Ministry and the Bishop P.J. Henderson Scholarship Program. He holds a BA from Marquette University.
Lady Prentiss D. McClelland
First Lady, Wisconsin Northwest Jurisdiction.
Born and raised in Denmark, Tennessee, Lady McClelland moved to Milwaukee to study journalism at UW-Milwaukee, where she met her husband. She serves as Vice President of Word of Hope Ministries, overseeing its health, social service, technology, employment and prisoner re-entry programs, and previously worked more than twenty years at Blue Cross Blue Shield. At Holy Cathedral she directs the Women's Ministry, edits the newsletter and coordinates the bulletin committee. A gifted teacher and speaker, she has presented at the National Leadership Conference and the National Pastors and Elders Conference.
Mother Grace Ann Harris, Ph.D.
Jurisdictional Supervisor, Department of Women
Mother Harris was installed as Jurisdictional Supervisor of the Department of Women in 2003, after 11 years as Chairperson assisting the late Supervisor Mother Ernestine A. Tatum. She serves at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ, holds degrees from Indiana University and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from UW-Madison, and serves on the National Department of Women Education Committee and the National Publishing Board of the Church of God in Christ.
